According to this news story, the Pope "did not see an anti-Christian motive in the recent wave of terrorist attacks blamed on Islamic extremists, attributing them instead to 'a much more general intention,'" saying in response to a question regarding whether Islam was a religion of peace, "I wouldn't want to label [it] ... Certainly there are elements that favor peace. It also has other elements."
Now, I am not sure what "general intention" causes people to hijack airplanes, bomb subways and buses, and kill themselves in the process. Methinks it is not unreasonable to suggest there is a more "specific intention" -- which leads me to the question: does everyone sound like a politician these days?
